I am unbelievably tired today. I’m at the point where I can barely think, so I apologize if I become incoherent during the course of my latest update.
I've received a couple of emails from my bootcampers who I will meet on Monday. I almost feel I should send an email to tell a little about myself, too. If only I weren't feeling so lazy today.
I’ll perk up around eight tonight. I love Wednesday nights, cuz that’s when I get to see Lost and Veronica Mars, which are the two best shows on TV. I hate that they air opposite each other, but I guess that’s what DVRs are for.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand…
I woke up at 2:30 in the morning yesterday, and couldn’t get back to sleep for the life of me. Around 5:30 it was time to get on up and head over to BodyBusiness Davenport. I had a Pilates session at 6:30, and I like to warm up beforehand.
Man, you should’ve seen me jammin’ on that elliptical machine. I was like a woman possessed…even the lady next to me commented on it. Amazing how far I’ve come after just a couple of months.
So after warming up on the elliptical and spending a few minutes on a couple of the weight machines, I was ready for my session with Suzanne. I signed on for three months of Pilates, so my one on one sessions end at the end of the month, which makes me a little sad, because I’m really enjoying myself.
Anyway, Suzanne asked if there was anything in particular I wanted to focus on for the next few weeks. I said (like an idiot) I’d like to learn more mat work, since that’s what the classes entail. I forgot how much I hate mat work. Granted, I get a lot out of it, and I’m cool with it after the fact, but during the mat exercises, I’m hating life. We did some “sideline kicks”, and the “teaser” and some other moves. My muscles still aren’t as flexible as they were before I got sick and took that week off from exercising, but I’m getting there. Anyway, my stiffness made some of the moves more difficult than they normally would’ve been, but I hung in there. I can always tell when I’m doing something wrong, cuz that’s then Suzanne gives my head, or whatever appendage is nearest her, a little push. I will say this, though, I did the dreaded “One Hundred” with no complaining whatsoever, almost.
So after the mat, we got on the reformer, and did the usual. Did I mention the reformer is my favorite? I like it more than the “Cadillac,” and much more than the mat. However, the “high barrel” is really growing on me cuz I can get some good stretches in, and believe me, I need all the help I can get in that department. Honestly, sometimes I don’t feel like doing more work after an hour of walking or biking or whatever I do, but I guess I gotta get it in gear or risk injury somewhere along the way.
Anyway, I’d tell you to check back next week, same Bat-time, but I don’t wanna be a liar on top of being a slacker.
